| A Street Story |
| back to overview |
Video (HDV transferred onto DVD), sound (English), 60:50 min, 2009
The documentary A Street Story is a portrait of the homeless Phillip Saffell, who is telling his tragicomic life story: after he lost his family in the attacks on the Twin Towers on 9/11, he is now trying to get along on being an extra for movies in downtown Los Angeles. I accompanied him for several weeks on his daily routine—at his location close to the Central Library; while he was walking dogs in the suburbia; while he was drawing his crime noir comics—and listened to his often incredible stories, in which the real and the imagined seem to be interwoven in an irresolvable way.
